Lucky Draw Coupons 1 to 1000, Numbered and Printable

A thousand numbered lucky draw coupons with matching stubs on 100 A4 sheets, set up for cutting in stacks and handing out in books.

Quick answer: Lucky draw coupons 1 to 1000 print on 100 A4 sheets at 10 per page, or 125 sheets at 8 per page. The generator above is already set to 0001–1000 on A4: change the event name, draw time, venue and coupon price, then click Download PDF and print at 100% scale. With cut-and-stack order you get ten piles of 100 coupons, each already in sequence.

A thousand coupons suits a large school fete, a mela, a big colony or society festival, or a company's annual day. It is a lot of paper to handle, so a little planning on numbering, cutting and storing stubs saves a great deal of confusion on the day of the draw.

Why the numbers start at 0001

With Digits on Auto, every number gets as many digits as the last number. Because 1000 has four digits, the coupons read 0001, 0002 … 1000. Numbers of equal width are easier to read from a distance and sort correctly when you line the stubs up. If you prefer plain 1 to 1000, set Digits to No zeros. If two groups run draws at the same venue, add a prefix such as A- or B- so a stub from one box can never be mistaken for the other.

Printing 100 A4 sheets

  1. Print the Test sheet on plain A4 and check that the crop marks line up, with the print dialog set to 100% / Actual size.
  2. For 100 sheets a print shop is usually quicker than a home printer, and many shops can also cut the pile on a guillotine. Take the PDF on a pen drive and ask for A4, single-sided, no scaling.
  3. At home, print in batches of 25 pages (pages 1–25, then 26–50 and so on) and keep the batches in order if you use cut-and-stack.
  4. To tell two halves of the run apart, download 1–500 and 501–1000 as two PDFs and print them on different coloured paper.

Cutting 1,000 coupons

Choose Number order: Cut-and-stack before downloading. The numbers are spread so that, after you cut the whole printed stack, every pile comes out in sequence. At 10 per page you trim the four margins, make one cut down the middle and four across: pile 1 is 0001–0100, pile 2 is 0101–0200, and so on up to 0901–1000. Depending on whether your printer stacks pages face up or face down, the lowest or the highest number may be on top; either way each pile is in order. Cutting 100 sheets with scissors is slow, so use a paper cutter in smaller batches or ask the print shop to do it.

Keeping 1,000 stubs under control

  • Hand out coupons in books. Open Seller books and tracking sheet in the generator, set 25 or 50 coupons per book and tick Print the book number on each stub. The seller log lists the range of every book, with columns for the volunteer's name, coupons issued, coupons returned and money collected.
  • Return stubs and money together, in an envelope marked with the book number.
  • Reconcile before the draw. Coupons issued, plus unissued coupons returned, plus any missing, should add up to 1,000. Leave unissued and missing numbers out of the draw.
  • Store stubs safely in a closed box with a slit, or in bundles of 100 held with a rubber band, until the draw.

Plan the prizes and the price

A thousand coupons can support more winners than a small draw. One example: 1 bumper prize, 2 second prizes, 5 third prizes and 20 consolation prizes, 28 winners in all, with the small prizes drawn first. Decide what the prizes and the event cost, then choose a coupon price that covers it. The table shows the sum of coupons times price; it is arithmetic, not a forecast.

Coupon price₹10₹20₹50₹100
All 1,000 coupons issued₹10,000₹20,000₹50,000₹1,00,000
Half issued (500)₹5,000₹10,000₹25,000₹50,000

Drawing from 1,000 stubs

A box holding a thousand stubs is hard to mix properly, and the stubs at the bottom can be missed. The easier way is to open the raffle winner picker, enter 1 to 1000, list the numbers you did not issue as exclusions and draw one winner for each prize. Then pull the matching stub from its bundle to read out the name, and ask the winner to show the coupon with the same number. If you prefer to draw by hand, tip the stubs into a large drum a bundle at a time and turn it between draws.
